Rock and roll is an iconic symbol in the world, not just a genre of music on iTunes. Yes when one hears Bruce Springsteen’s, Born in the USA, it’s impossible not to turn it up and sing along at the top of your lungs. However, Rock is so much more than that. It’s the feeling you get when you see a boy with long hair and guy liner or a girl with purple streaks in her messy hair and a leather jacket. It’s empowering and it’s hard not to be inspired to be yourself with so many people rocking their own thing with that much confidence. So go out there and rock your own look whether it’s preppy, edgy or boho. After all, why would you ever want to be anyone but yourself! You’re the only you out there, so own it!
Add a little mystery with dark, sultry lips
Beauty inside bubbles is the only way I can think to explain the exhibit we saw today. From the crochet head pieces to the tiny hand made rose details along the garments, it was stunning. It’s like couture gowns mixed with old, Roman sculptures and it would be impossible not to love it.
While in Paris, we plan to live like locals. Of course we will see the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, but we will do and have done much more than that. Tonight we made our way from the Paris equivalent to what looked liked New York’s Upper East Side, to China town, to Brooklyn to Little India in a matter of minutes. These are all small blocks off the usual tour guides but most were great gems. Walking the quiet back streets to then eating authentic indian food, doesn’t sound like the Paris we all see in the movies but experiencing it first hand is why we travel in the first place isn’t it?
From glass pyramids to stone arches, Paris has it all. The romance is more evident here than in the story of Romeo and Juliet and it is obvious with just one glance. I can’t believe the amount of detail and hard work that went into these structures. Just seeing them makes you want to know more and over the next 12 days I hope to do just that.
People travel to Paris everyday for the art in the museums, but few mention to look for it in the restaurant around the corner. I’ve been here for only two days and have not eaten something that wasn’t worthy of exhibition, from the beautiful patterns in the cappuccino foam to the green, red and white contrasts in my salad, it’s all art.and while it’s not a timeless piece, it’s definitely worth the few extra dollars.
